Polenta and Italian Sausage

For dinner tonight, we had hot Italian sausage resting on delightful soft Parmesan cheese infused polenta. The leftover polenta was formed in a bowl, to be eaten warmed or perhaps browned up a bit in that glorious lipid, olive oil.

Pear Salad deux

Maryann made this tonight, inspired by some Harry and David pears and some blackberries from Trader Joe’s. Romaine, aceto balsamico and some crumbled Gorgonzola complete the ensemble.

Salad Niçoise

Inspired by my recent trip to France, and an overabundance of hard boiled eggs, I decided to have a go at Salad Niçoise. It came out pretty good.

Kolacky!

Classic apricot: Highly experimental TJ’s raspberry jam and Dundee Orange (school) Marmalade. Also tried Ginger Marmalade, but they were meh. Not as good as if Mom was here to make them. But, I think she would have been pleased.

Ham and Eggs (with greens)

Leftover hard boiled eggs (primarily whites since we made Mom’s kolacky’s). Simple mayo and mustard sauce with celery and some rosemary. On a bed of spinach. Not quite green eggs.

Salad Decadence

Mezzataranean Mediterranean salad from Mezza. Pitted Kalamata olives are yet another sign that God loves us.
