Bacon Salted Caramel Pecan Bars
Another Weight Watchers friendly dessert (not). I think it could use more bacon, but couldn’t everything? Not an insignificant amount of work, in my opinion.
Saltine Toffee
This is remarkably good. I thought that the saltines would be weird, but they are unobtrusive and seem to just provide a bit of scaffolding.
All Three Major Food Groups
We made candied bacon for the get together of what is traditionally The ManTrip planning meeting. We contacted Claudia, but the recipe she gave was light on specifics for candied bacon noob’s. So, we went to the web, and used this recipe from Emeril. The cayenne was a nice touch.
As I have often said in the past:

And those three food groups? Why, sugar, salt and fat of course!
These are a few of my favorite things
A fantastic melange of goodness. Pasta, broccoli, Italian sausage, ceci, arugula with garlic and red pepper. Fat drained and a chicken broth sauce with Italian herbs. Fantastic.
Smashed Cauliflower
I got the recipe from the Novice Chef Blog (http://thenovicechefblog.com/?p=2523). Tasted pretty good for pretending to be mashed potatoes. It is a unique side dish and low in carbs.
