Lunch In Strasbourg
A trip to Strasbourg. Karen had a sandwich with Brie on ciabatta. Maryann had the filet mignon (pork not beef), with salad (delightful mustard mayonnaise dressing no doubt made from scratch). A little Pinot noir from the area. Joe had the same thing. It was the special (plat du jour). We could have added frites, …

Classic cheese fondue (Emmentaler based). We were told that fondue started as a way to use up stale bread. The local Swiss wine …
Lunch on Pilatus
Schweine sausage Rosti Onion gravy Bier (local brew in Lucerne – Eichoff) A thoroughly delightful lunch on top of Mt. Pilatus. It was huge, and we could have easily made do with two among the three of us. Didn’t stop us much. Anyone who says American portions are too much needs to come to Lucerne …
Cape Gooseberry
Bi color chocolate moose with a Physalis to top it. We have never seen one of these before, but the waitress was kind enough to go back to the kitchen to ask precisely what it was on our behalf.
